VIDEO 2008 Legislative Goals Comprehensive Sex Ed

Hear ye Hear ye, the 2008 Minnesota Legislature is NOW IN SESSION! This year, Planned Parenthood has a number of legislative goals that we would like to achieve. Today, I'd like to feature the first of the goals: Passing Comprehensive Sex Ed. We were extremely close to passing it last year as part of the Education Omnibus Bill. But then Governor Pawlenty decided that he would would veto the ENTIRE EDUCATION Bill if the Comprehensive Sex Ed portion remained in the bill. So naturally, they got rid of the comp sex ed component, not wanting to have the entire Education Bill vetoed.
